one of the nice things about being done with all our tests and strenuous learning adventures is that we can all get together and just have fun being around each other without stressing out. tonight a group of folks from my class got together and had a cookout. i specially bought a t-bone steak for the event, which was quite possibly the most amount of red meat that i've eaten in a VERY long time. i had it marinating in teriyaki sauce, balsamic vinegar, healthy doses of ginger and garlic powder, black pepper, red pepper, and a little bit of sugar. our grill master of the evening cooked it perfectly to medium rare, and man, it was delicious. it was really funny at the store when i was buying the meat, because i was buying all these ingredients for to make the vegan cupcakes. hahaha...soy milk anyone?
today i pre-registered for M2 year classes. i don't really believe yet that i'm going to be an M2 one day. call me weird...i guess my school journey has been not the norm, so i won't believe it until i'm there...!
our case presentation today was on renal issues. my group presented "red man syndrome", or hypersensitivity to the antibiotic vancomycin. interesting case...our "patient" ended up with acute interstitial nephritis and i got to google up some nice histology slide images of the "biopsy results". tomorrow is cardiology if i remember correctly...
i can't wait to start my summer job!!! i'll be doing research on some genetics projects of the doctor/boss of mine, and plus i'll be shadowing him in clinic. that, i think, will be the best part of it all.
